1 3/4 Cups Cornmeal 1/4 Cup Flour sifted 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder 1 Teaspoon Salt 1 Tablespoon Sugar 1 Small Onion chopped 3/4 Cup Milk 1 Egg beaten
Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; stir in onion. Add milk and egg, mixing only until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into hot deep fat (375), frying only a few at a time. Fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper towels. Serve hot with fish. |
